Data we collect
Estimator and contact inputs
Optional fields submitted in calculator and contact forms may include:
- Name, email, phone, ZIP code
- Project summary, selected problem signals, add-on preferences
- Device and session identifiers used for routing and quality metrics
CrawlCost does not currently collect project photos through public forms.
How we use data
- Generate and store estimate output context
- Support local quote routing and support triage
- Improve calculator usability and page clarity
- Detect abuse and prevent form spam
What we do not do
- We do not claim to provide legal, inspection, structural, or architectural diagnosis
- We do not sell private user data to unrelated parties
- We do not auto-fill sensitive health or financial profiles
Third parties and service providers
We may use hosting/CDN, anti-bot, analytics, and email infrastructure to keep the service reliable.
If any provider processes personal data, they are restricted to agreed service functions under our lead-routing and operations requirements.
Optional quote follow-up
If you ask for local quote follow-up, we may share the contact details and project context
you submit with relevant home-service professionals or referral partners so they can respond
to your request. This is optional and is separate from using the calculator for budgeting.
| Data | Use | Typical retention |
| Name, email, phone, ZIP | Respond to support requests or optional quote follow-up | Kept while the request is active, then retained only as needed for operations, abuse prevention, or legal records |
| Project summary and calculator inputs | Help explain the requested scope and improve calculator quality | Reviewed periodically and removed or anonymized when no longer needed |
| IP-derived security signals and user agent | Detect spam, abuse, duplicate submissions, and service reliability issues | Retained only for security, debugging, and operational needs |
